OpenClinica at Partnerships in Clinical Trials 2010 (Orlando, FL)
(Orlando, FL) Akaza Research is pleased to announce its participation in the upcoming 2010 Partnerships in
Clinical Trials conference, April 12-14 in Orlando, Florida. The event is being held at the Orlando World
Center Marriott Resort and is one of the premier worldwide events for clinical outsourcing and development.
At the event Akaza will be hosting an exhibit booth and presenting OpenClinica, its popular open source electronic data capture and clinical data
management software. As the world’s most widely used open source EDC system, OpenClinica offers
clinical trial sponsors and Contract Research Organizations (CROs) a uniquely flexible way to obtain an
industrial strength electronic data capture system with the benefits of a professional open source model.
“Especially when it comes to partnerships, open source offers real advantages that just don’t exist in the
proprietary world,” said Benjamin Baumann, Director of Business Development at Akaza Research, LLC. “For
example, a CRO can exercise a much greater degree of control over how its EDC technology is implemented and
serviced, delivering greater success to the customer and enabling greater cost efficiency.”
The professional open source model Akaza practices with OpenClinica is similar to that of other notable
open source companies such RedHat, MySQL, and SugarCRM.
OpenClinica representatives will be available for discussions at Booth #363.
