Software Quality Analyst, Clinical Informatics

We are looking for a smart, motivated, and enthusiastic individual to serve as a Software Quality Analyst for our OpenClinica open source EDC software platform. Join an ambitious firm that uses a cutting-edge open source model to power biomedical clinical research. You will be responsible for ensuring software quality and in a validated, regulatory compliant environment. Your responsibilities include maintenance of defects list, development of product quality plan, test suites, and test cases, and regular software testing. This position offers excellent growth and leadership opportunities, and is ideal for somebody with interest in the biomedical field and/or open source software.

General Responsibilities:

  • Work with marketing, OpenClinica Project Manager, Analyst, company administration, and external stakeholders to provide detail on product bugs and requirements.
  • Develop OpenClinica Quality Plans, test suites, and test cases
  • Assist with development of formal product requirements and specifications, maintenance and annotation of defects list, and preparation of release documentation.
  • Conduct regular software testing according to Quality Plan, report defects, and respond to requests for further information and retesting of defects
  • Develop and execute automated regression test scripts.

Desired skills and experience:

  • QA/QC background in clinical, laboratory, or software field
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Capacity for complex critical analysis, with ability to learn and assimilate new information in situations where only limited standardization or formal knowledge exists
  • Proficiency with leading quality tools and methods for web-based software applications
  • Demonstrate success in coordinating and/or documenting complex software development projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Experience with clinical research and/or medical informatics a major plus
    • Computer Systems Validation and FDA regulatory compliance
    • Experience with automated regression testing tools and techniques

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Interest in and understanding of open source software
  • Ability to meet deadlines and execute work at extremely high standards of quality.

Job Location:

This position is for a full-time or contract employee at our office in Kendall Square, Cambridge. We are conveniently located near the Kendall Square T stop on the Red Line. No recruiting agencies please.
