Senior Software Engineer
Does the prospect of making a large impact on a new, cutting-edge healthcare information project excite you? Akaza Research seeks an experienced software engineer to lead development on an innovative healthcare information integration project. Candidate should have a master’s degree in computer science or a related field and 4-5 years professional experience. Open source software development, enterprise IT background, and experience working in distributed data environments will be valued highly. Candidate should have solid experience with most of the following technologies:
- Federated query
- Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Web Services and SOA
- XML, XPath, XQuery, XSLT, XML Schema
- Java
- SQL
- Eclipse
- Python
- PHP
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for a development team of three, working under a project manager and leading development in federated query infrastructure, metadata registry tools, and record linkage mechanisms. The position will be primarily responsible for assuring quality, security, and scalability of the technology.
Job Location:
This position is for onsite full time work at our office in Kendall Square, Cambridge. We are conveniently located near the Kendall Square T stop on the Red Line.

Compensation:
6 month contract with strong potential for future long term contract or salaried work. Compensation competitive and based on experience. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, Section 125 plan, and 401k retirement plan. Potential for stock options.
