Sales Associate
Akaza Research is looking for a sharp and talented Sales Associate to assist the company in selling its commercial open source clinical trials software, OpenClinica. This is a great opportunity to make a significant impact in a rapidly growing, game-changing company in the life sciences IT space. You will work under the supervision of the company’s Director of Business Development.
This position includes the following key duties:
- Support company sales leads by cultivating, qualifying, and closing OpenClinica Enterprise sales opportunities.
- Interact with prospective customers to qualify opportunities and determine appropriate selling approach
- Interact with prospective customers to help determine support & service requirements
- Conduct product demonstrations and draft customer proposals
- Maintain organized and effective sales efforts
- Ensure a smooth transition from the sales to implementation phases
- Other sales and marketing responsibilities as determined by the Director of Business Development

Background & Experience:
The following experience is required for this position:
- Demonstrated experience in highly consultative, highly technical sales or related role in life sciences industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or substantially equivalent coursework
- Interest in and understanding of open source software
- Experience in working in the clinical research or related field. Preference may be given to candidates familiar with EDC, CDM, and CTMS products.
Job Location:
This is a full time position based in our Waltham, Massachusetts office, and may require periodic travel (both domestic and international). (Note: our office is currently in the Kendall Square area of Cambridge and will be moving to Waltham on October 1)
Compensation:
Compensation includes base salary with significant performance-based bonus component. Comprehensive benefits include 401k plan with matching, stock compensation plan, Flexible Spending Account, health and dental insurance.
