Akaza Research enhances the productivity of clinical research through the application of innovative open source technology. In 2005, Akaza Research released OpenClinica, which has quickly become the leading commercially supported open source clinical trials software (see www.openclinica.org). OpenClinica has been adopted at over 100 leading clinical research institutions worldwide, including biopharma companies, government organizations, contract research organizations, and academic medical centers.

In addition to providing an efficient, flexible, and low-cost way to manage clinical research, OpenClinica provides powerful tools to facilitate protocol design, create and manage Case Report Forms (CRFs), monitor studies, and obtain real-time transparency across multiple studies and sites. As an open source product, the OpenClinica source code is freely available for download at www.openclinica.org.
